The Management of the Borno State Guidance and Counselling Board paid a courtesy visit to the Police Service Commission (PSC) at its Headquarters in Abuja as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional collaboration and enhance support for qualified applicants from Borno State.
The delegation was led by the Executive SECRETARY, Prof. Muhammed Abba Jimme, and the Chairman of the Board, Alhaji Abba Lawan Ashigashiya. Other members of the delegation included Board Members Hon. Gadau Ali and Hon. Shettima Bukar, as well as the Chief Accountant, Babagana Tijjani, CNA. During the meeting, the Board formally introduced its leadership and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting fairness, transparency, and strict compliance with established recruitment standards in all engagements involving Borno State indigenes.
Discussions centered on areas of mutual interest, including sensitization of prospective applicants, guidance on documentation and eligibility requirements, youth mentorship, and the promotion of inclusive participation in recruitment exercises into the Nigeria Police Force. The Board highlighted its role in preparing and guiding applicants to ensure they meet the required criteria while upholding the integrity of the recruitment process.
The Chairman of Police Service Commission Hashimu Salihu Argungu RTD commended the initiative and reiterated its dedication to merit-based, transparent, and equitable recruitment practices in line with constitutional provisions.The visit marks a significant step toward strengthening cooperation between both institutions in advancing youth empowerment, national service, and sustainable development.
