BORNO STATE GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING BOARD PARTICIPATES IN SCREENING OF 200 BORNO INDIGENES FOR NIGERIAN NAVY BASIC TRAINING SCHOOL BATCH 38
The Borno State Guidance and Counselling Board has officially deployed a delegation of senior officials to participate in the screening exercise of shortlisted candidates for the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS) Batch 38.
A total of 200 indigenes of Borno State were shortlisted for the screening exercise. The Board’s delegation is tasked with verifying and confirming the authenticity of the candidates’ claims of being bona fide indigenes of Borno State, while also supporting the Nigerian Navy Interview Panel in ensuring a transparent, credible, and merit-based process.
The delegation comprises of Prof. Mohammed Abba Jimme, the Executive SECRETARY of the Board, Alhaji Abba Lawan, Chairman, and Hon. Shettima Bukar and Hon. Gadau Ali Monguno, both Board Members; Babagana Tijjani, Chief Accountant of the Board; Tahir M. Ali and Abga Barka Chiroma, who are serving as Local Government Representatives.
Speaking during the exercise, the Executive SECRETARY, Prof. Mohammed Abba Jimme, commended the Nigerian Navy for providing the opportunity to qualified Borno State indigenes to serve the nation. He emphasized that the Board remains committed to safeguarding the interests of genuine indigenes by ensuring that only duly verified candidates are endorsed.
He further urged the shortlisted candidates to conduct themselves with discipline, honesty, and confidence throughout the screening process, noting that integrity remains a key requirement in military service. He assured the Nigerian Navy authorities of the Board’s full cooperation in promoting fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity.
